It's 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. Ironically, he is left standing at the altar on his own wedding day. Convinced by his friends to go back to work, Robbie befriends Julia Sullivan, a waitress who works at the reception hall where he sings, and who is about to marry a cheating skunk. As Robbie helps Julia plan for her wedding, they begin to fall for each other, and Robbie realizes that if either of them are ever going to be happy, he's going to have to confess his feelings for her.

If you liked the movie The Wedding Singer, you will love the musical! Awesome new songs that are hilarious while others that are heart-warming...some that are both! This show has a rating of PG 13.

The Stardust Players is a non-profit community theater group that was established to provide a theater group for area teens. It is a division of Stagekids children’s theater that was founded in 2002 by Debbie Troia and the Corning Family YMCA. They are sponsored by The Lake Country Players community theater group in Watkins Glen.

Corning Fine Arts Features Amy Haney

Corning Fine Arts is proud to present the work of Amy Haney in the exhibition Maritime.

The exhibition continues through Thursday September 30, 2010

Artist Statement:
Making artworks based on sea life over the past year has been educational and continuously inspiring. I find a delicacy and strength in fragile earth collectibles. Like any Midwesterner, I have collected and marveled over the varieties of shells found at visited beaches. There is a duality of power and weakness in these creatures. Like a portrait of the sea, I’m researching, collecting and documenting its existence.

Artist Biography:
Amy Haney received her BFA from the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida and her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Both of her degrees are specifically in printmaking. She teaches Watercolor and Drawing at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Drawing and Printmaking at the Metropolitan Community College. She also works out of her studio at Hot Shops Art Center in downtown Omaha and is the Assistant Director at the Omaha Printmakers Guild in the same building.

YCAC 35th Anniversary Exhibit

Check out donated items here. More are being added daily. There will be music, fun and a chance to meet the artists at the Opening, as well as food. Come enjoy, listen to the music of harpist Trudy Moon, and bid often and high. Plan to take home a stunning work by a YCAC artist.

For the remainder of this show pieces of art work donated to the Center by the local artists will be sold, for the benefit of the Art Center, at the unique price of $35, which is a wonderful bargain price for everyone.
